badpIt doesn't take a genius to figure out that Pig Sickness aka swine flu seems to only affect people who hopped a jet to Mexico or Mexifornia recently. It's also pretty obvious that most people who come down with it recover on their own quickly.
What if the media never reported any Pig Sickness?
Stop and think about it. Would the person with body aches and a fever think anything of it? Or would they just pass it off as the common flu, rest up, eat chicken soup, and get better?
The only reason so many cases are being reported is that people are now automatically assuming every cough and sneeze is an indication of swine flu! And for some people it is. But how do we know, really, that this isn't something that has been going on for a lot longer? Is it really "pandemic" just because our timeline started this month?
In some parts of the world, it is spring. Pollen season. You know, "hay fever" and such. And sometimes you eat a bad hotdog. And sometimes you play a little too hard and get sore shoulders. Normally you would not assume any exotic illness for experiencing these symptoms. But now you probably would. That part of your brain, the reticular cortex has been activated. It is now seeking out anything to do with Pig Sickness. I bet you can't look at a picture of a pig without thinking about it. You can't wipe snot from your nose without wondering if you're passing something.
Break free. Turn off the TV, radio, and news sites. Participate in no discussion of this Pig Illness. And it will just go away.
badpI think Osbama's handlers are slipping. First, he talks to his teleprompter, telling it to speed up. Then he directs his plane to fly low over New York city, disrupting business and causing panic among citizens who thought the plane was going to plow into a tall building. What a moron.
badpAlright! Ever since all the Obama-mania has quieted down the media has been wandering the streets like a lost puppy, looking for even a small morsel of hysteria to latch onto, ingest, and poop out onto our collective lawns. Well, friends, they have found it. It's PIG SICKNESS!! And the punchline? It doesn't seem to bother pigs! Instead (this is right out of Steven King's The Stand or that awful movie "Outbreak" which left people scared of monkeys) It's a horrible mutant virus that transferred from pigs to humans and is threatening to wipe out the globe, oh crap!!
Now I don't mean to make light of those who have died from this illness. Just like any other communicable disease, it should be taken seriously. But, as usual, the media is opting for mania instead of reporting the facts. So I wish to do you all a favor and give you a few facts, some of which are contrary to so-called "health organizations" such as, well, the World Health Organization :)
Fact 1: A new strain that transfers from animals to humans is not necessarily more life-threatening, nor is it more likely to be (epi/pan)demic
Fact 2: A 3-month-old baby in Texas contracted the swine flu... and recovered... without even being hospitalized. Enough said.
Fact 3: Mexico is a nasty country. You are advised to get shots for tetanus, hepatitis, and oh yeah, don't drink the freaking water. What's the significance? Increased likelihood of opportunistic illness -- an illness that normally would not occur, but is enabled by the presence of an existing illness.
Fact 4: Mexico has poor health care. Those with compromised immune systems (diabetics, pregnant, elderly, etc.) do not have adequate resources to manage serious symptoms. And they have only limited access to anti-viral drugs.
At a time when people are complaining about how "awful" the healthcare system in the U.S. is, it's quite the counterpoint to see the night-and-day difference between how the infected in the U.S. fare compared to those in Mexico, isn't it? Maybe that's because the U.S. has the best healthcare system in the entire WORLD. Despite its obsession with allopathy, we all should stop and thank the Lord that we have the best healthcare in the world available to us and everyone here.. even those who can't afford it.

badpNot really surprisingly, the half-White House has turned into more of a liberal media outlet than the seat of government. You know Obama is feeling inadequate when he has to respond to -- of all people -- Rush freaking Limbaugh. In all 8 years Bush was in office, I can't remember him once responding to any famous left-wing doofus' rants. He just ignored them. But Obama must have left his alligator skin in thug Chicago. He's turned into a little boy who has to have a come back everytime someone says something about him. News flash, Hussein Obama: Nobody is listening to you except your minions. You know, the great unwashed who voted your economically ignorant sorry butt into office. And yes, ignorant he is. That's not an exaggeration. I initially thought he was actually smart and only said stupid things to appease the average American idiots. But it's become clearer and clearer that he has no clue about how economies work or what makes them tick. It's not even that he understands and just has a bad philosophy. He is genuinely, completely ignorant of basic economics. And most people are. But this dude is supposedly so highly educated, he should at least understand what recessions are and why we have them. But he doesn't. He's a fool. And that is exactly why he and his clowns are becoming irrelevant. It's easy to listen to Obama is you agree with him, but as he continues to lie, and lie again, and lie some more, and keep on telling the same lies over and over again, living in the past while the rest of the world moves on, people begin to tune him out. The poor and stupid who voted for Hussein Obama focus their attention where the excitement is. There is no more excitement surrounding the mulatto. He is dull, inarticulate, and boring. Oh, and he also looks mad all the time. I guess he's mad that he actually has to work now. Obama will go down in history as one of the lamest lame-duck "Presidents" this country has ever seen. In two years the economy will be thriving, and nobody will want to listen to left-wing crap about how unfair capitalism is. The phenomenon that got Obama elected cuts both ways: when things are going badly, losers will take a chance on a loser. But when things are going great, losers won't even be paying attention. That is one fundamental difference between the haves and the have-nots.
And now, a short message for you who support the "stimulus" bill...
You might think this bill contains something new and different. You know, like "change." But in reality this bill does the same thing similar bills have done over the past 80 years: It pushes the problem to the next generation. Yes, the WW II generation pushed their problems to the baby-boomers, the baby-boomers pushed it onto their children, and now their children are pushing it onto their children. It is essentially a Ponzi scheme, but nobody has realized it yet. But it will catch up with us, and when it does, say bye-bye to American jobs. Businesses don't go where people are demanding jobs, they go where the money and tax advantages are. And if the tax-and-spend pattern of behavior continues, that place will not be the U.S.A.
I don't need to wish Obama fails. I know he will fail because he is doing the same things that made other Presidents fail.
