It is time to get pumped

You know.. if you have been awake for the past couple years, you probably have succumbed to the mass depression sweeping the globe. Everyone is bummed about the "recession", the economy, the Swine flu, global warming, gas prices, the absence of E.R. on TV, dirty air, and so on and so forth. It's like people think there's nothing out there to be pumped about. Now, as a Christian, I have a lot of things I could be unhappy about:

Homos
Obama
Socialism
Communism
Fascism
Taxes
Loss of freedom
Compulsory recycling
Abortion
The want of my favorite snack mix from Wal-Mart
24 not coming on until January
Atheism
Porn
Mercedes being made in Alabama instead of Germany
GM being owned by a union and the U.S. gov't
Most of the world's population going to hell

And so on! Yes, I could be down in the dumps about all that. I could lament and feel sorry for myself, and give myself an excuse to be frowny-faced and in a foul mood all the time. But I ain't gonna do that. WHY?

Because I have the best gift and the greatest hope anyone could ever have. Eternal life with Jesus Christ and those I love who know and love Him. No matter what happens, there is always that light at the end of the tunnel. And there is indescribable peace all along the way. No matter what all the naysayers say, I am a light and a witness to those in darkness. For all the flak this journal gets, all of it is worth it if just one person comes to know Christ because of it.

So I will continue to beat this keyboard like an mean ugly dog, pushing out bits of truth to those who need it most.

Yes, even for homos.

Set a date.

I would be completely shocked if anyone ever came to "know Christ" as a result of your methods. Like, it's POSSIBLE that you could get someone to like you by punching them in the face repeatedly, but most people are turned off by that sort of thing. Likewise, the way you go about "spreading the word" is pretty much the antithesis of what makes most people receptive to receive new ideas. I'm guessing you probably drive people away from Christ much more than bringing them towards him.

But good luck with that anyway :)

Just curious, do you have any sales experience?

It's not at all uncommon for people to realize the error of their ways only after being beaten with a Bible over and over. You are more correct than you know, however, about driving people away. Jesus Himself said that He was the "stumblingblock", causing others to stumble. Of course, it's better to stumble and be offended by Christ than to have the Rock fall on and crush you. If I drive people away, then so be it. At least I have warned them.

It's 4th of July weekend so it is time to get pumped about FREEDOM, that we live in a free country and that we are free in the Lord. Whom the Son sets free is free indeed!
